Students wishing to accelerate a grade level in elementary or junior high school or one or more courses at the high school level may take a Credit by Examination (CBE) provided they have not received prior instruction in that grade level or course. If you are interested in taking a CBE, please visit your campus counselor and request an application. All CBE applications must be returned to the campus before the deadline set for each administration. A deposit of $25 per test is required to reserve the exam, which is fully refunded after the completion of testing. Exams are offered in October, February, June and July. For students enrolling from private/homeschool who have received prior instruction: 

The student must be five years or older by September 1st of the current year and enrolled in Alvin ISD in order to be eligible to take the grade placement exams. The parent will be requested to complete and submit the grade placement form at the time of enrollment. A student may be assessed for grade placement only one time during any year.

Review of the Application and Results: A campus committee will review the form and the results to make recommendations for placement. All decisions are final.
