Alvin ISD Celebrates 11 National Merit Finalists
Alvin ISD is proud to announce that 11 outstanding students have been named National Merit Finalists in the prestigious 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. These scholars have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, placing them among the top students nationwide.
The 2026 National Merit Finalists from Alvin ISD are:

National Merit Finalists represent the highest level of academic excellence, earning this recognition through top scores on the PSAT/NMSQT, outstanding academic records, and strong leadership in their schools and communities. These students now advance to the next stage, competing for prestigious National Merit Scholarships that will be awarded later this spring.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is one of the most esteemed academic competitions in the country, recognizing students who exemplify exceptional intellectual ability and promise. Alvin ISD congratulates each of these students and looks forward to celebrating their future successes.

Thank you Mav Nation! MHS raised $8,205 for the Education Foundation. The money raised for turtle adoptions will fund grants & Scholarships.

Congratulations to Senior- Bettina Oducado, Freshman- Ajah Varghese and Senior- Asha Varghese who advanced to the state competition for DECA. The students are lead by Advisor, Ashley Bradshaw.


Twenty One students in Mrs. Clark's Animal Science Class earned their iCEV Certification. She was presented with a plaque with all the students names listed. Congratulations Mavs!

Congrats to the following swimmers on their finishes in the Regional Swim Meet - Madison, Longoria, Mirey Hirtz, Sahara Hamid, Joslynn Woytasczyk, and Taylor Wilson. Taylor also made the finals cut for her performance in the 200 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle. Weslie Caton was the only Swim and Dive team member to post a top 10 finish at Regionals with a 9th place finish. Way to go girls! Hoka Hey!!!
