Mrs. Aquino's Pre-K students wore their red, white, and blue to support Patriot's Day!

On Friday, Ms. Ice's 4th grade students presented their space projects that they have spent the past two weeks researching and working on. They look amazing.

Staff of the week goes to... Drum Roll... Mrs. Kamara Cooper! Mrs. Cooper is truly one of a kind and an absolute GEM! She is always willing to go above and beyond, and no matter what is asked of her, she tackles it with a smile and a positive attitude. She has a natural ability to find solutions, jump in wherever she is needed, and make things happen. She is the definition of a true team player and brings such a positive energy to our school each day. Watching her in action during SOAR time has been such a joy! Her dedication to supporting our students and teachers is so evident, and she always gives her best to make a difference. We are so lucky to have you on our Bennett team, Mrs. Cooper!

Ms. Campos and Mrs. Aquino's classes wore their pajamas to school to celebrate Iowa Colony High School. We know they worked hard today and they were already dressed to go straight to bed!

Today in Ms. Torres, class, they went on an exciting school-wide scavenger hunt to help Nurse Liz find her missing thermometer! By putting their spatial awareness and location words into action, the students tracked down every clue, solved the mystery, and made sure Nurse Liz had all her essential tools back in hand.

Mrs. Jackson's second grade students enjoyed some reading time on the couch in the library after checking out their books.

Just a reminder that Bennett will be hosting Grandparents Bingo this Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 pm. Please see the flyer for details. We can't wait to celebrate all of our grandparents and have some fun!

Bennett is family! Fun Fact! Coach Thrasher knows some special people. Cam Ward was the number one draft pick last season, drafted to the Tennessee Titans as their quarterback. He is from her small town, West Columbia/Brazoria. She taught him and his sisters, and worked with his mother, and ran youth basketball programs with his mom & dad. Coach Thrasher even went to Las Vegas with them for a youth basketball tournament. They live next to her parents. Today we had students wearing his jersey and she sent Cam’s mom (Patrice) some pics, and she was like “Hey, those are my nieces.” He has an awesome story (a new movie about his grit & determination is out on Tubi). We recently honored him over the summer with a parade and naming of a street after him.

On Friday, Iowa Colony High School basketball players helped load students into their cars, wishing them a great weekend. The students and parents loved this treat! Thank you to the players and coaches for donating your time.

Staff of the week goes to... Drum Roll... Ms. Corri Valiare! She brings structure, consistency, and high expectations into her classroom while helping her students take responsibility for their own learning. Her use of meaningful visuals helps create an engaging and supportive learning environment for her students. She is also an incredible team player! When a new first-grade teacher joined our campus, she was quick to offer support, guidance, and encouragement to help her feel welcomed and successful. We are so thankful to have her as part of our Bennett family!

Our character trait for August was kindness. These students practiced kindness on campus and were selected by their teachers as the Student of the Month. We are so proud of them for being kind to others.
