Today we had the opportunity to participate in a flag retirement ceremony. The students in attendance learned why we pledge to the flag, why flags are retired, and why we honor and remember those who served and their families who support them. A moment of silence was observed as we remembered the lives lost during 9/11. Our old flags were ceremoniously lowered, properly folded in a customary triangle, and will be delivered for a ceremonial burning. Thank you so much to the Dugas and Kaufman families for providing new flags for our campus and creating such a special opportunity for our students!
