These educators do more than provide access to books—they foster a love for reading and empower students to explore both history and the world around them!
MJH BOYS TENNIS TRYOUTS
When: Tryouts will begin Monday, March 24th
Time: 4:30pm
Requirements:
Must be eligible to participate per UIL
Must be cleared w/ a physical on file in Rank One
No discipline issues, ISS, write ups, etc.
We will meet in the boys' locker room and walk over to the courts.
Items needed:
Water Jug
Proper shoes for playing tennis. Do not wear cleats, vans, crocs, or slides.
I will not let you tryout without proper shoes.
Proper attire: t-shirt, shorts, socks.
If you're in athletics, your MJH athletic clothes are perfect.
Please bring your racquet if you have one.
We do have racquets if you need to borrow one.
We will try out Monday - Wednesday. I will separate by skill level on the first day.
Coffee with counselors has been canceled for this week.
Congratulations to this year's Campus Teachers of the Year!
Each campus selected their own Teacher of the Year and those winners are now in the running to become either the Secondary or Elementary Teacher of the Year for the district! The district winners will be announced at the Employee Recognition ceremony in May.
REMINDER: Friday, February 14 is a Teacher Professional Learning day and there is no school for students. Monday, February 17 is holiday for all students and staff.
Swim Tryouts/ Practice will begin Tuesday, 2/18. after school. We will meet in the athletic hallway and walk over to Manvel HS for practice.
Track Season will begin Monday, February, 10th. Please see the athletic web page for practice times and sequence, track and field schedule.
We will practice in the mornings before school starts. Doors will open at 6:45am.
Fall Picture Retake January 16th.
Reminder for Alvin ISD families, Thanksgiving Break will be November 25-29. There will be no classes for students and the district will be closed. School will resume on Monday, December 2.

The NJHS induction ceremony is September 26th from 6 pm - 7 pm in the MJH Cafeteria. There will be refreshment s and dress is semi-formal.
MJH Library will have a Scholastic Book Fair Sept. 23-27. We will be open during Open House on Sept. 25 from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM.
FFA-Round Up for 3rd through 12 . Informational Meeting August 26 5:30-6:30, Student and Alumni Meeting 6:30-7:30, Manvel High School Cafeteria. Games, refreshments, and learn about leadership opportunities.
As our families prepare for back to school, we wanted to give a quick reminder on Alvin ISD's Cell Policy.
The district permits students to possess personal cell phone for safety purposes.
Smart watches (including Fit Bits), earbuds (including Air Pods), headphones, mobile game consoles and all other electronic devices are not permitted.
Cell phones must be remain powered off and stored away during the instructional day, including during all testing, unless they are being used for approved instructional purposes.
Over the coming weeks, we'll spend some time focusing on why AISD finds it necessary to limit cell phone and smart device use during the school day.

Who: All students planning to participate and/ or try out for a sport next season.
Re: To discuss requirements to participate, 1st period athletics expectations, dresscode, cut sports vs. non cut sports, and to give a preliminary idea of what to expect with each sport.
