Teachers don't intentionally dress like one another but occasionally that's exactly what happens. Today Mrs. Edge & Mrs. Sullivan were twinning & obviously winning. Hope everyone has an awesome weekend. We'll see all our Wilder Wolves back Monday morning; remember, late arrivals begin at 8:01. #WilderWolves #WeSeeYou #IfKnowledgeIsPowerThenLearningIsASuperpower

4th- and 5th-graders, don't forget the deadline to apply for Library Ambassadors is Monday, August 31st at 3:00 pm. Teacher recommendations are due Friday, September 4th. Students can pick up their teacher recommendation QR codes in the library. They are in a yellow tub sitting on Mrs. Sullivan's desk in the library and are clearly labeled. Be sure to put your name on the recommendation request sheet before giving it to your two teachers. #WilderWolves #AllinAlvinISD #IfKnowledgeIsPowerThenLearningIsASuperpower #WeSeeYou

Yesterday, our 2nd graders had a surprise guest reader, Ms. Natalie Buford. Ms. Buford is an Elementary Curriculum Coordinator with Alvin ISD, and we were so pleased that she stopped by Wilder. They loved listening to her read a laugh-out-loud funny, slightly gross book about boogers. As you can imagine, the students loved every minute of her visit. #WilderWolves #AllinAlvinISD #IfKnowledgeIsPowerThenLearningIsASuperpower

If you visited the Book Bus this summer and still have their books at home, please bring them back to school and give them to Mrs. Sullivan or Mrs. Alex in the library. They'll send them back for you. Borrowing books from the Book Bus is just like borrowing books from our Wilder or public library; they have to be returned so someone else can read them. #WilderWolves #AllinAlvinISD #IfKnowledgeIsPowerThenLearningIsASuperpower

Check out what Mrs. Owens' 2nd graders worked on this week. They built a Thinking Classroom. Students worked in small randomized groups at dry-erase boards. They tackled challenging problems, bounced ideas off each other, and actively built their own understanding. It’s all about collaboration, critical thinking, and getting students up and moving to learn! Thanks to the Wilder PTO for providing these whiteboards and creating this space for students! #WeSeeYou #WilderWolves #AllinAlvinISD #IfKnowledgeIsPowerThenLearningIsASuperpower

Our 5th graders have been busy decorating their writing journals. When students personalize items, it helps them take pride in what they write and can even inspire future writing assignments. Mrs. Roberts enjoyed watching and listening to her students talk about the items they were adding to their notebooks and can't wait to read the phenomenal stories they will write throughout this school year. #WeSeeYou #WilderWolves #AllinAlvinISD #IfKnowledgeIsPowerThenLearningIsASuperpower

Mrs. Roberts' 5th graders spent some time last week getting to know one another. Students created examples of sports they liked to play, food they loved to eat, shows they liked to watch, and things they enjoyed doing outside of school, all using Play-Doh. Students quickly learned they have more in common than differences, which was the entire point of Mrs. Roberts' activity. #WeSeeYou #WilderWolves #AllinAlvinISD #IfKnowledgeIsPowerThenLearningIsASuperpower

Each year at the start of the school year, our students and teachers create their classroom social contracts together. A social contract is a student-designed agreement that replaces traditional, teacher-imposed classroom rules with mutual, value-based expectations. Instead of a list of forbidden behaviors written by an authority figure, it's a living document built entirely from student responses to four core questions. The Four Core Questions that students and teachers respond to are: How do you want to be treated by the teacher? How do you want to be treated by each other? How do you think the teacher wants to be treated by you? How do we handle conflict or disagreements? Talk to your Wilder Wolf to learn about their classroom social contract. #WilderWolves #AllinAlvinISD #IfKnowledgeIsPowerThenLearningIsASuperpower

This morning, Mrs. Sullivan announced our summer reading winners. In total, 56 students completed the challenge of reading 600 minutes, and over 200 logged at least once over the summer. OurWilder Wolves logged 57,526 minutes in Beanstack, which is outstanding! We want to congratulate our top 10 summer readers, celebrate our top 2 readers for winning a squishy of their own, and we want to acknowledge our final 12 students for completing the summer reading challenge before school began. Remember, each month Mrs. Sullivan rewards students who complete the monthly Beanstack reading challenge, and our August challenge is in full swing. Make sure your Wilder Wolf logs those minutes in Beanstack so they can earn rewards like these amazing kiddos have. #WilderWolves #IfKnowledgeIsPowerThenLearningIsASuperpower #WeSeeYou
