Emilia earned her Senior White Belt in Tae Kwon Do! 💪 After 2 years of hard work, she completed all the Mini Masters belts before moving up to the beginner group. If she keeps it up, she’ll be a Black Belt by age 9 — amazing! 🌟 #JaguarsOnBreak

Hello! My name is Abigail Falcon and I am so excited to be a part of the Don Jeter Elementary team! I grew up in the Alvin area and feel so lucky to now teach for Alvin ISD.

I taught 5th and 6th grade RLA and Social Studies at Pearland ISD for 3 years. I am passionate about helping students find joy and comfort in reading.

I recently got married in December 2024 to my high school sweetheart. In my free time, I enjoy trying new restaurants in the Houston area, watching movies, keeping up with sports, and reading books.

My name is Karina Palacio, and I’m super excited to be joining the amazing team at Don Jeter Elementary! This will be my 10th year in education. I graduated from Texas Tech University through the TechTeach program in 2016—Wreck 'Em! I was raised in the Texas Hill Country (Marble Falls, TX) but moved to Houston three years ago after getting engaged. My husband Carlos and I have now been happily married for almost two years. We have an adopted dog named Miles and are hoping to start a family soon now that we’ve settled into our new home. My hobbies include anything related to crafts or art, like painting or creating online. I’m also a big sports fan—soccer and basketball are my favorites—and you can often find me at Dynamo, Astros, or Rockets games. I love spending time with my family, playing board games, and being out on the water, especially the lakes and rivers back home. Fun facts about me: I can play the saxophone, and technically I’m supposed to change my last name to Cruz... but I haven’t gotten to it yet. Ha! I’m passionate about teaching and truly value the relationships I build with my students. I can’t wait for a wonderful year at DJE! This May, we celebrated the retirement of two amazing educators who each made a meaningful mark on our school community! 👩‍🏫 Mrs. Beckman has been a beloved part of our campus for over 20 years. Her dedication, wisdom, and deep connection with students and staff have shaped generations, and her presence will be truly missed. 🍎 Mrs. Govea joined us this year, and though her time with us was short, her passion and warmth made a lasting impression. We’re grateful for the impact she made in just one year and wish her all the best in her retirement. Thank you both for your service to education and for the heart you brought to our school.
