School districts in the area and Alvin ISD partners will be decking their halls with this year’s six Superintendent’s Holiday Card Contest winning designs.
“Sweet Sweet Holidays,” “Bright Lights,” “Santa’s Rockin’ Hat,” Christmas in the Desert,” “Have a Paw Christmas,” and “Feliz Navidad” are the names of the designs that were chosen and the student artists and their art teachers were bussed to the Alvin ISD Administration Building on December 1 for a special lunch with Alvin ISD Superintendent Carol Nelson.
“This holiday card contest serves as a celebration of the artistic talents we have across our district. It's truly exciting to have the opportunity to showcase our student’s remarkable artwork not only within our community but also to neighboring districts, elected officials, and various community partners,” shared Superintendent Nelson. “This is one of my favorite events of the year because we get to honor the amazing students and their teachers and it’s always fun to get to see their reactions to seeing their artwork professionally printed!"
Each winner and their teacher received copies of the printed version of their winning cards and will be recognized by the school board during the December 12 regular board meeting.
“All the submissions this year were absolutely wonderful,” Superintendent Nelson said. “I want to thank the staff and the teachers for your support and helping the students achieve their goals.”
