Alvin ISD Celebrates 11 National Merit Finalists
Alvin ISD is proud to announce that 11 outstanding students have been named National Merit Finalists in the prestigious 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. These scholars have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, placing them among the top students nationwide.

National Merit Finalists represent the highest level of academic excellence, earning this recognition through top scores on the PSAT/NMSQT, outstanding academic records, and strong leadership in their schools and communities. These students now advance to the next stage, competing for prestigious National Merit Scholarships that will be awarded later this spring.

The Shadow Creek and Savannah Lakes SeaPerch robotics teams competed earlier this month in the International SeaPerch competition in Maryland!
The Shadow Creek Sushi Farmers earned 5th place out of the best 70 high school teams in the world while Savannah Lakes' Peanut Butter and Jelly Fish finished 38 in its division!

Today is School Librarian Appreciation Day!
These educators do more than provide access to books—they foster a love for reading and empower students to explore both history and the world around them!

Congratulations to this year's Campus Teachers of the Year!
Each campus selected their own Teacher of the Year and those winners are now in the running to become either the Secondary or Elementary Teacher of the Year for the district! The district winners will be announced at the Employee Recognition ceremony in May.


REMINDER: Friday, February 14 is a Teacher Professional Learning day and there is no school for students. Monday, February 17 is holiday for all students and staff.

Reminder for Alvin ISD families, Thanksgiving Break will be November 25-29. There will be no classes for students and the district will be closed. School will resume on Monday, December 2.

As our families prepare for back to school, we wanted to give a quick reminder on Alvin ISD's Cell Policy.
The district permits students to possess personal cell phone for safety purposes.
Smart watches (including Fit Bits), earbuds (including Air Pods), headphones, mobile game consoles and all other electronic devices are not permitted.
Cell phones must be remain powered off and stored away during the instructional day, including during all testing, unless they are being used for approved instructional purposes.
Over the coming weeks, we'll spend some time focusing on why AISD finds it necessary to limit cell phone and smart device use during the school day.

NO BAGS: Students will not be allowed to bring any bags the week of May 20 - 24. All bags will be taken at the door as they arrive and will be returned at the end of the day. Anything students bring on those days must be in a gallon size Ziploc bag. No backpacks, no purses bigger than a small clutch, no grocery bags, etc. will be allowed on campus.
