Read Across America and Youth Art Month are coming! Check out these fun dress up days in March!

Students in 4th Grade learned about Atlanta-based contemporary artist Reginald Laurent and his use of shape, line, and color in his abstract art. Upon completion of the lesson, students had the opportunity to meet Mr. Laurent virtually in an artist talk that was engaging and inspiring! For the first time, she was able to share an artist visit district-wide, with ten Alvin ISD elementary schools tuning in to the virtual artist visit live and other schools utilizing the recording of the artist visit to extend their learning. Students learned about Mr. Laurent's artistic process, what inspires him as an artist, and how his childhood doodling paved the way for a successful art career. Thanks, Ms. LeBoeuf!
