Our 2025-2026 Rookie Teacher of the Year goes to... Ms. Torres! She has a remarkable ability to keep students engaged and supported, creating a classroom where every student feels seen, valued, and motivated to learn. Colleagues describe her as sweet, hardworking, and deeply dedicated to her students’ success. Her joyful spirit and positive attitude radiate throughout the campus, uplifting both students and staff. For a first-year teacher, her professionalism, commitment, and heart for students truly stand out.


Our 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year goes to... Mrs. Pond! She represents as Bennett Elementary's Teacher of the Year because of her unwavering dedication to students and staff. She consistently works to support student growth by developing modified curriculum and providing valuable guidance, particularly in preparation for ARDs. Mrs. Pond is a true team player who willingly shares her expertise and supports others with professionalism and positivity. Her knowledge in both RLA and Special Education, strong advocacy for students, and commitment to collaboration make her an exceptional educator and a tremendous asset to our campus and district.


The Bennett Art Club is learning to sew. They are having a great time!

Reminder: Alvin ISD will closed on Monday, January 19 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Staff of the week goes to... Drum Roll... Mrs. Kristen Chessher! Where do we even begin? Although you joined us later in the year, you have already proven to be an exceptional co-worker, a true team player, and an amazing teacher. You come to work each day with a smile on your face and are always willing to try new things to help your students grow and succeed. We are beyond blessed to have you as part of our Bennett family. Thank you for consistently showing up and giving it your all!

Not only do you work hard in your classroom but also to help other teachers be the very best they can be! She was very informative and shared great ideas that we could easily use in our classrooms and implement! She gave great resources that were useful for our high and struggling students that she made handmade!

Ms. Peacock's first grade class learned how to use a new manipulative. Ms. Peacock introduced her class to base ten blocks. Students represented numbers using base ten blocks, identified the value of each digit, and wrote numbers in standard and expanded form. They all did a great job! ☺️

Alvin ISD will be hosting a TELPAS Parent Night on January 21 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at JB Hensler (7380 Lewis Ln, Manvel, TX 77578) for parents of our emergent bilingual students.
TELPAS is a required state assessment that analyzes the annual progress of emergent bilingual students and this parents meeting will discuss the process and what parents can expect.
