Along with animal research, Ms. Torres' class started their caterpillar observations. They are eagerly awaiting their butterflies to hatch.

Ms. Torres' kindergarten class completed their animal research projects and put them on display for the school to enjoy. They all did such amazing work!

Bennett Elementary will be a Closed Campus on Thursday, April 9, 2026, due to STAAR testing. There will be no visitors allowed on campus and no food drop offs. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Our students wore blue to support Autism Awareness Week.

This week we celebrated Autism Awareness week. Thank you to our staff and students for celebrating kindness, inclusion, and neurodiversity for our students with Autism.

Staff of the week goes to... Drum Roll... Mrs. Reyes! She consistently goes above and beyond by taking initiative and stepping in wherever support is needed without being asked. She has a natural ability to connect with students, helping them calm down and feel safe when they are upset. She comes to work prepared, positive, and ready to do whatever is needed to support both students and staff. Her dedication and heart for our students truly do not go unnoticed.

Today is Paraprofessional Appreciation Day! Bennett Elementary is truly grateful for everything the paraprofessionals do each and every day. Their heart shines through in their work, and while their job is not easy, they make it look effortless. Thank you for your dedication, your compassion, and the meaningful difference you make in our school community.

Today, all the students who raised $250 or more during our Boosterthon fundraiser earned a Glow-in-the-Dark Party. They had a blast! ✨

Staff of the week goes to... Drum Roll... Mrs. Sentamil! Day in and day out, she goes far beyond what is expected, always putting students first and finding ways to support each child’s unique needs. Her positivity is contagious! She shows up every day with a smile, a can do attitude, and a genuine determination to help every student succeed. Whether it’s offering extra encouragement, stepping in wherever needed, or building meaningful connections with students, she does it all with grace and care. Our students are better because of her, and our team is stronger because she is part of it.

Your balance of love and firmness shows just how deeply you care about them. Not only do you pour that care into your students, but you also extend it to the staff. Whenever someone is feeling down, you’re right there, lifting them up and making them feel special. Thank you for showing up each day with such a positive spirit!

As we enter the final nine weeks of the school year, we would like to share a few important reminders regarding the Texas Cell Phone Law and our campus outside food policy.

Texas Cell Phone Law (House Bill 1481):
This law prohibits students from using personal communication devices during the school day. School districts are required to enforce disciplinary consequences for violations of this policy.

Each infraction of this policy will result in the following escalating consequences:

First offense – Device taken, returned to student at the end of the day
Second offense– Parent/ guardian must pick up the device
Third offense– $15 fine and parent/ guardian pickup required

Outside Food Policy:
Food and drink deliveries from third party services (DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc) are not permitted for students. Parents/guardians may drop off lunch for YOUR CHILD ONLY. Delivering food for other students is not allowed.
