This month's Character Strong trait is Cooperation! Our second-grade students read The Concrete Garden by Bobbie Kalman is a children's book that focuses on the theme of cooperation and community. The story centers around a girl who takes a box of chalk and begins drawing a map on the sidewalk. The map eventually becomes a plan for a garden in the middle of a city, and as the story progresses, different people in the neighborhood come together to contribute and help transform the concrete space into a beautiful, thriving garden. The book highlights the importance of teamwork, creativity, and the positive impact that cooperation can have on a community. Inspired by the book, our students worked together to design and build our very own Concrete Garden, bringing teamwork and creativity to life.

Staff of the week goes to... Drum roll.... Ms. Kauk! If you ever have any questions about math or data she is your gal! She helps coach our teachers, provides meaningful data to teachers so we can work on areas of improvement and is always willing to help where needed. If you are ever in doubt with any math questions, she's the one to call! Thank you for working so hard to help every teacher and student succeed.
