In order to qualify for NHS consideration, students must be a junior or senior with an overall GPA of 5.3 or higher.  Students who meet that requirement will be given a membership packet at the beginning of the school year (usually in September).  They are then asked to complete the application and a Faculty Council is formed to review each student's forms.  The Faculty Council will determine if the student meets all membership requirements.  Notifications are then sent out to each student and an induction ceremony is held soon after.  When a student becomes a member, it is the expectation they will maintain an overall GPA of 5.3 or higher, pay their annual membership dues, complete 20 volunteer hours, and attend 75% of all chapter meetings.
