Hello,
Welcome to the Advanced Placement webpage for Alvin High School!
Advanced Placement courses at Alvin High School represent the highest level of learning available to our students and provides students with the opportunity for a profound level of learning not found in any other programs or courses available on our campus. AP courses are designed to prepare students for honors-level university work, as well as for the corresponding AP Exam, which can earn university credit. Students who score a 3, 4, or 5 on an AP exam can receive university credit for that particular course, depending on the university's credit policy. All Texas public universities must award credit for scores of 3 or higher on AP exams.
AP courses are rigorous and challenging. It is important to understand that while we believe every student has the potential to be successful in AP courses, not every AP course is the right fit for every student.
Please spend some time here familiarizing yourself with the AP program at Alvin High School and Advanced Placement in general via the links to the left.
If you have any questions or need help selecting AP courses, please contact Mrs. DeLeon to schedule an appointment.
