Shadow Creek High School student wins Congressional Art Competition

A student at Shadow Creek High School has won her district’s Congressional Art Competition. Jessica Liu’s piece, titled “Cloudy with a Chance of Reins,” will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for an entire year. Texas U.S. Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) announced the winner for his district on May 6, 2019.

“Each piece of art is a true testament to these young folks’ creativity and talent. Millions of people from around the country visit the Capitol every year and will have the opportunity to view these talented students’ artwork,” Olson shared.

The contest began in 1982 to provide members of Congress with an opportunity to encourage the artistic talents of their young constituents.
