    *All graduation plans were made to adhere to social distancing guidelines as directed by Governor Abbott and the Texas Education Agency and to keep all graduates, guests and staff healthy and safe.

    Guest Access:

    • Each graduate will receive 6 guest wristbands.
    • Everyone entering the stadium must have a wristband. (ALL AGES)
    • Gates for parking and stadium access will open at 5:30 pm for SCHS, MHS, and AHS. 8:00 am for ASSETS.
    • Clear Bag Regulation will be enforced. (please click HERE to see the specifications)
    • Programs will be distributed prior to the commencement ceremony and available virtually.
    • Umbrellas will be allowed prior to the start of the ceremony.  Umbrellas must be put away when the ceremony begins. 
    • Hand sanitizer or hand washing stations will be available at all venue entrances.


    Guest Seating:

    • Guests will be directed to seats as they enter the stadium.  Social distancing measures are to be observed throughout the ceremony.
    • All ASSETS Guests will all be seated on the VISITOR/EAST/GREEN side of the stadium.
    • Guests of graduates whose last name starts with A-K will be seated on the HOME/WEST/BLUE side of the stadium.
    • Guests of graduates whose last name starts with L-Z will be seated on the VISITOR/EAST/GREEN side of the stadium.
    • Guest seating will be every other row.
    • At Freedom Field four (4) designated seat spaces are equivalent to 6 feet distance.

    Parking Information:

    • Each graduate will receive 3 parking passes for guests.
    • All ASSETS Guests will park on the VISITOR/EAST/GREEN side of the stadium. (See map)
    • Guests of graduates whose last name starts with A-K will park on the HOME/WEST/BLUE side of the stadium. (See map)
    • Guests of graduates whose last name starts with L-Z will park on the VISITOR/EAST/GREEN side of the stadium. (See map)
    • Gates for parking and stadium access will open at 5:30 pm for SCHS, MHS, and AHS. 8:00 am for ASSETS.
    • No tailgating will be allowed.

    Graduate Information: 

    • Each high school administration will schedule a campus distribution process for all parents/graduates to retrieve wristbands, parking permit/card, information sheets, 4 programs and health self-screening tool. *Please bring your student ID. 
    • Graduates will report to Freedom Field at 6:00 pm.
    • Social distancing measures will be enforced during the ceremony.   
    • Parents will not be allowed in the Graduate staging areas before or after the ceremony. 
    • Each Graduate will be provided a new cloth mask for their ceremony.  Graduates will wear masks during the ceremony. (Except while taking photos)
    • Staff distributing diplomas and other materials to graduates will wear gloves.
    • Hand sanitizer or hand washing stations must be available at all venue entrances.
    • Graduates are to leave their gowns open to enter the stadium. 
    • Graduates with any of the following will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony. 
      • New or worsening signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19:
      • Cough
      • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
      • Chills
      • Repeated shaking with chills
      • Muscle pain
      • Headache
      • Sore throat
      • Loss of taste or smell
      • Diarrhea
      • Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit
      • Known close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19 if exposure to the active confirmed case occurred within the last 14 days

        Those found with any of these signs or symptoms must be excluded from the activity.


    COVID-19 Prevention Measures:

    • Guests need to maintain social distancing at all times while in attendance at graduation ceremonies.
    • Guests will be seated only in designated areas.  Follow the directions of the ushers.
    • All guests are to self-screen prior to the event. (Screening questions are in the graduate packet)
    • Any guest with any of the following should NOT attend the ceremony or come to the stadium.  New or worsening signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19:  
      • New or worsening signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19:
      • Cough
      • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
      • Chills
      • Repeated shaking with chills
      • Muscle pain
      • Headache
      • Sore throat
      • Loss of taste or smell
      • Diarrhea
      • Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit
      • Known close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19 if exposure to the active confirmed case occurred within the last 14 days
    • Individuals who were diagnosed with COVID-19 cannot attend unless:
      • At least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since recovery (resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications); 
      • And the individual has improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath); 
      • And at least 7 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.
    • Guests are to appropriately disinfect their hands, including prior to accessing school facilities and after the use of restroom facilities. Hand sanitizer will be provided at regular access points for students, parents, visitors, and staff. 
    • Cloth face coverings are highly recommended.
    • Touch surfaces will be cleaned throughout the ceremony.
    • Surfaces will be disinfected prior to each event.

    Prior to the Ceremony:

    • Reminders for health self-screening tools will go out to senior families at 8 a.m. the day before the ceremony.
    • We ask that each graduate and guest complete the health self-screening tool. If any graduate or guest answers yes to any of the questions, we ask that they do not attend the graduation ceremony.
    • Place your parking permit/card on dash in the front driver’s side window of your car.
    • Guests are asked to bring masks or gloves to wear during the ceremony. Graduates will be provided with a Class of 2020 face covering with their school’s name or logo.

     

    At the Event:

    • Parking opens at 5:30 p.m. (8:00 a.m. for ASSETS) Please review parking maps and traffic flow suggestions. Graduates and guests can only park in assigned lots. Parking lots will be designated by colors and will match the parking card color to be placed on the vehicle’s dashboard.
    • Each individual is responsible for safely social distancing in the parking area.
    • Guests put on your wristband and proceed to the gate. Please follow signage/arrows provided on site.
    • Attendance is optional and a family decision.
    • Custodial attendants will be available to disinfect high touch areas in the restroom and concourse areas.
    • The ceremony will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m.
    • The ceremony is expected to last about 2 hours.

     

    After the Event:

    • At the end of the ceremony, we are asking graduates not to toss their caps due to social distancing standards and the inability to retrieve their own cap.
    • When directed, campus administration will dismiss everyone in an orderly manner by section and by rows. Graduates and guests will exit out of the stadium through the south endzone. Please have patience during this process as we work to ensure the health and safety of all participants.
    • No one will be allowed to congregate on the field or in the parking area after the ceremony.

     

    Miscellaneous:

    • Concession stands will be open for purchase of water only
    • No outside food or drink is allowed in stadium (except bottled water)
    • Programs will be distributed in advance at the campus or available virtually
    • No strollers
    • No alcohol or tobacco products.
    • No weapons of any kind (knives, guns*, chains, etc.)
    • No electronic or vapor cigarettes
    • No unauthorized banners, signs, or flags
    • No balloons
    • No noisemakers, air horns, laser pointers, or fireworks
    • No roller blades or skate shoes
    • No animals other than service animals
    • No tripods
