• Hello! My name is Alex Rivas and I am one of the science teachers at Alvin Junior High. This year I will also be teaching 7th grade science and 8th grade MAP science! I moved to the Alvin area 15 years ago. I graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.  I also attended the University of St. Thomas where I earned a Master of Education in Special Education/ Educational Diagnostician.

  This is my 18h year in Education, having spent the last 9 years at Alvin High School as their ESL liaison. When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my lovely wife and five children. When I get the chance, I love training and learning about traditional martial arts.
