Greetings, Mavericks!

My name is Katie Lucas, and I am thrilled to be serving my third year at Manvel High School. I am originally from Corpus Christi and have lived and taught in the Pearland/Manvel area since 2007.  Throughout my sixteen years of experience in Education, I have taught all levels of high school English, including advanced placement courses. I also work part-time as an adjunct instructor and writing tutor for a local community college, which I feel helps me pass down the needed skills to my students to help them become college-ready. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Texas A&M University of Corpus Christi, as well as my Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Houston Clear Lake. In my free time, I love to travel to new places, experiment with cooking different kinds of ethnic foods and eating at interesting restaurants (In case you couldn't tell, I'm a big foodie!). I am excited to learn more about my students and to get to know each and every one of you this school year. I am confident that we can make great things happen during the 2022-2023 school year by working together as a TEAM! Best wishes to everyone for an AWESOME school year!
