Mrs. Michelle Nelson

My name is Michelle Nelson and I am the DBC teacher at Alvin Junior High School.  Born and raised in Texas, I have spent the last 25 years in Florida where I worked as an educator for 19 years.  I transitioned back to Texas and began working at AJH in September 2019.  While in Florida I began my educational career in a self-contained middle school classroom as a paraprofessional.  Upon completing college and earing my Bachelor's degree from the University of West Florida, I transitioned into a teaching position.  I later moved to a separate day school within the district where I taught Reading and most recently worked as the Media Specialist.  Working now in my twentieth year, my entire career has been spent in special education.

I married my husband in 1992.  We share two sons, both of whom are grown.  In addition, we have four grandchildren and four furbabies.  I am a die-hard Texas Longhorns football fan and a Disney fanatic.  In my spare time I love to read, cook, craft, and spend time with my grandchildren.
