Mrs. Donielle Walters is a native of sunny Los Angeles, California. Following undergraduate study at Smith College—a member of “The Seven Sisters” located in Northampton, Massachusetts— she served as a Teach for America Corps Member in Houston Independent School District (Houston ISD). During her tenure in Houston ISD, she taught English Language Arts. Succeeding her time in Houston ISD, she joined Alvin Independent School District (Alvin ISD) as a member of the Fairview Junior High School faculty. At Fairview, Mrs. Walters served as a Special Education Teacher/Department Chair, an English Language Arts Co-Teacher, and a Dyslexia Specialist. Presently, Mrs. Walters is pleased to serve the Alvin ISD community as an assistant principal at Bel Sanchez Elementary School.
Mrs. Walters is a resident of the Alvin ISD community. Mrs. Walters is the wife of Mr. Raylon Walters, a Shadow Creek High School coach and assistant principal. The Walters are the proud parents of two energetic children and a rambunctious Yorkie Terrier. Mrs. Walters enjoys reading, writing, traveling, spending time with her family, and learning new languages.
Mrs. Walters is eager to begin the 2019-2020 school year and looks forward to building deep and meaningful relationships with Navigators! Mrs. Walters believes deeply in the words of John Cotton Dana: "He who dares to teach must never cease to learn."
