Mr. Adam Hopson

Greetings! Welcome to my homepage. My name is Adam Hopson and I am a Macroeconomics and Economics teacher at Shadow Creek High School. This will be my 5th year at Shadow Creek High School. I taught in Pearland ISD for a couple of years before I came to SCHS where I had the amazing opportunity to teach Economics, Government, World Geography, and World History. I love teaching these subjects because these are the courses where students learn who we are, where we come from, and where we can go in the future; additionally, courses like Economics presents students with new ways to see and think about the world they are not, typically, accustomed to; I enjoy being a part of that discovery process with them!

I was born in Knoxville, Tennessee (GO VOLS!!!!) but grew up here in Houston. I graduated from Clear Lake High school where I ran varsity track & field (sprints) and participated in the JROTC program. After graduation, I joined the United States Marine Corps where I served four years of active duty and deployed to Iraq in support of OIF. When my active duty service was over, I came back to Houston and began working at NASA as an admin while also beginning my college career. I graduated from the University of Houston (GO COOGS!!!!!) with a BS in Political Science and a minor in Economics. I have been married for 12 years and I have two beautiful daughters who love to visit my school and see "THE big kids."

My hobbies include:

Spending time with my family

Triathlons

Watching college football

Watching motorcycle races

Reading

Being really bad at eating vegetables

Anything dealing with politics and economics

I look forward to the new school year and I am thankful to be a part of the SHARK NATION!
