This is my 13th year working as a SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST. I earned my Bachelors and Masters at Stephen F. Austin State University. I worked for my first 3 years for Pearland ISD, serving the last few months as Interim Lead for the district before coming to Alvin ISD. I have worked at Marek, York, Shadow Creek HS, and served on the Autism Assessment Team for the district, and have supervised SLP Assistants, graduate students, and Clinical Fellows. This is my 3rd year at Pomona! I live in Houston with my husband of 12 years, my 8 year old daughter, and my 5 year old son. We love to spend our weekends in Galveston!
I also own an app company, Central Speech Solutions, LLC
. Our featured app is CoreVOICE
. We want to make communication affordable to those without a voice, or those who just need some visual support. CoreVOICE is also available in Spanish now too! We also have Alexa skills to practice with AAC devices and speech therapy. Just say this to Alexa to get started: "Alexa, enable speech therapy practice." or "Alexa, enable speech device practice."
I love educating others about CORE vocabulary and using books in therapy to bridge the gap between language development and literacy.
