    Biography:

Ms. Thompson started the Veterinary Science Program at JB Hensler College and Career Academy 5 years ago when the building opened. She teaches Veterinary Assistant Level 2. Ms. Thompson just completed her 9th year of teaching Agriculture Science. This will be Ms. Thompson's 6th year in Alvin ISD.

Ms. Thompson was involved in FFA and competitive cheer in high school. She was on the Horse Judging team and was an officer 2 years. She went to Tarleton State University where she completed her Bachelors of Science in Animal Industries, minor in Business and her whole degree had an emphasis in Equine Science. During college she was a cheerleader her freshman year, competed on the Stock Horse team and was the teams' Vice President.

After college, Ms. Thompson was a veterinary technician for small and large animals for four years. She learned her passion for teaching through training new employees while being a veterinary technician and being a horseback riding instructor. So, she decided to become certified to teach Agriculture Science.

Ms. Thompson is also a Certified Equine Massage Therapist, Certified Equine First Aid Instructor and Certified Canine & Feline First Aid & CPR Instructor.

She also advises students in the Shadow Creek FFA Chapter that show lambs and goats, coaches the Veterinary Science Team, and advises students that participate in the Dog Training SAE program.
