    About Me

I was born and raised in Houston, TX, and still can’t handle the heat and humidity of the Bayou City. After receiving my BFA from the University of Houston, I moved across the country to escape the heat for a bit and attend graduate school at the University of California Santa Barbara, where I also taught in the University's Art Department and went to the beach everyday. Before joining the faculty at Shadow Creek High School, I was an adjunct professor at Alvin Community College. Alongside teaching, I maintain an active art career as a member of The Center for Imaginative Cartography & Research. When I’m not teaching art or making art, I like to look at art and think about art. And eat and cook and take long walks along the bayou!
