Math Instructional Coach

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year at Bob & Betty Nelson Elementary School! I am Lucy Chapa, the Math Instructional Coach for our campus. This is my 17th year in education. In 2010, I received the honor of Alvin Elementary's Teacher of the Year. I am an Alvin High School alumni, graduating class of 1993, and then I pursued my education at the University of Houston – Clear Lake. I enjoy spending time with family;  my husband George, daughters Layla and Kyra, and grandchildren Lucas and Graciela. I look forward to a great school year!
