    About Me
My name is Fred Patrick, and I am excited to be one of the Head Band Directors at Nolan Ryan Junior High!  I attended Louisiana State University, where I studied in the horn studio of Professor Seth Orgel, member of the Atlantic Brass Quintet.  I also benefited greatly from studying under Dr. James Byo, Dr. Donald McKinney, and the rest of the faculty at the School of Music.  I am an alumni member of Kappa Kappa Psi and Pi Kappa Lambda.
I started my teaching career in Alvin ISD at Nolan Ryan Junior High where I was one of the Assistant Band Directors for 3 years.  While there, I was fortunate to work with many amazing students and directors, many of whom I will continue to work with today!  I followed that by opening Shadow Creek High School and spent 5 years as an assistant director.  This community has become like a second home for me and I look forward to continuing the excellence of music that is alive and well here!
Through my experience and working with these students and coworkers has led me to see that young musicians can accomplish great things, so I am excited to see what these young musicians can do going forward!
I grew up in the Houston area in Friendswood with my three little sisters who all played piano and went through band as well.  Music has always been a huge part of my life and dramatically changed my life.  I hope some of my students get to experience music in the same way I did!
