About Me
Hello!
My name is Melissa Bray, and I grew up in Angleton, TX. After high school, I attended Brazosport College where I earned my Associates of Arts in Teaching, and then I transferred to the University of Houston-Clear Lake, graduating with a Bachelors in Literature with a 7-12 English Language Arts teaching certificate (I also have my ESL certification). In the fall of 2017 I returned to the University of Houston-Clear Lake to pursue a Masters in Literature with a concentration in rhetoric and writing and graduated December 2019! This will be my seventh year with Alvin High School, and before my adventure began here I worked for Angleton ISD. In Angleton I worked with junior high, and since I have been in Alvin I have taught 9th-11th grade.
My husband Earl and I have been together over a decade, and we have an awesome son, Cayden, who will be starting 4th grade this year! We also have a number of animal babies, including: a silver dachshund named Bullet, a dapple dachshund named Mags, a silver brindle pit named Gunner, and a cat named Harper Lee. As a family we enjoy fishing, gigging, camping, and riding mini-bikes. Each year we go camp out and dress up for the festivities at the Texas Renaissance Festival. Other hobbies of mine include: reading, writing, crafting, and binge-watching shows on Netflix and Hulu!

I love the Houston Texans and Astros!
My favorite restaurants are ChickFilA and Chilis.
My son loves Pokemon, so we play Pokemon Go a lot. He's also obsessed with Fortnite and Minecraft, so I occasionally play video games!
