    About Me

I am married to Marilyn Rodriguez and have been married for 28years.  I have a 23 year old daughter named Rebecca, who is her 2nd year of teaching Life Skills at Hays Consolidated school district, and a 22 year old son named Jack, who is a senior at Texas State, majoring in Speech pathology.  This is my 33rd year at Alvin High School and 37th overall. I also taught at Hays Consolidated and Belton.. I coach freshmen football and jr. varsity baseball.  I have coached in Alvin since 1988.  I taught world history for my first 5 years in Alvin and then changed to U.S. History.  I am very excited to teach world history again.  My class is very engaging as we cover the needed curriculum and delve into current events and projects. Please feel free to contact me either via phone, 281-245-4238,  or e-mail, drodriguez@alvinisd.net.Thank you for giving me a chance to teach your children. I feel that history is oftened overlooked in it's importance, but in our times and how society has changed, history and what it brings to us is vital. I have a passion for teaching and I hope to make class as interesting as possible so your child will find it interesting. Finally, I do teach 5 classes of World History and my tutorials are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Friday from 6:45 to 7:15. Feel free to contact me and we can , together, find a way tomake your child's year as successful as it can possible be.
