I'm Daniel Chimes and I am a member of the
Social Studies department at Shadow Creek
High School. The 2020-2021 school year
marks my 10th as a high school teacher.

My dad came to this country from England
on a track scholarship and met my mom at
    university. After marrying, they eventually
settled near Houston for work. My dad has
worked as an engineer for NASA for over 30
years. He and my mom had three boys
(Matthew, me, and Luke) born and raised
    in the Clear Lake Area.

I have a diverse personal and educational
background and a wide range of interests.
    I attended Dickinson High School
and then on to the University of Houston
(B.M. Music Theory). I taught English in
Galena Park ISD for four years before
moving to Alvin ISD.  I have certifications
in Social Studies, English, and Music. In my
spare time I write songs, engineer sound
recordings, and play drums with my church's
praise and worship team. I am a soccer
    player, runner, and enthusiastic motorcycle
rider. I enjoy a variety of musical styles,
    cooking, reading about history, photography,
    and travel.

Some of the places I've traveled to...
The Dominican Republic (where my wife
is from), England & New Zealand(my family),
Russia, Mexico, Honduras, Belize, and all
    around the USA

I live in Dickinson, TX with
    my beautiful wife, Jossette.
