Coach Kevin L. Baker
Science Teacher
Houston, TX (Clear Lake High School ) 1988
Married since 1998 to June Baker. My wife is from LaMarque, TX, and is currently a realtor. Before becoming a realtor, she was a campus testing coordinator for Clear Creek HS and Clear Springs HS. I played baseball in high school as well as in college on a scholarship. I enjoy coaching baseball, computers, guitar, riding a motorcycle, and flying (which I haven't done in years). I have three sons: Matthew (29), Hunter (21), and Mason (18). The two oldest boys graduated from Friendswood High School. My youngest son, Mason, is a senior this year (2023). My middle son Hunter attends UT-Tyler and should graduate in December (2024). Mason is undecided about where to attend college but leaning towards Blinn in College Station, TX to eventually enroll in Texas A & M University. I just moved from Friendswood in June of 2022 and moved to Clear Lake Shores (Kemah). I plan on retiring in a year or two and getting into real estate with my wife or just buying a boat and fishing every day. I spent some time in the Czech republic coaching baseball for the Sokol Krc Baseball Club.
I have been teaching since 1995 and have been with Alvin ISD for 24 years. 11 at Alvin High School, 4 at Manvel, 1 at Assetts, and 9 at Adapt. I also had other years at Clear Lake HS, Sam Rayburn HS, and Texas City HS. I have been a science teacher my whole career, starting with Biology, IPC, Chemistry, Environmental Systems, Marine Biology, Physics, and Astronomy. My certification is 8-12 Science Composite which means I am certified in All high school science classes along with APA and AP endorsements.
