My professional goal as a teacher is to be a role model for students and to build positive appropriate relationships in order to encourage and motivate students to learn difficult concepts.

I want to create a Positive, Fair, Firm, and Equitable classroom environment where students feel safe, secure, confident, and be trusting in my ability, as a teacher, to be a mature, caring, and responsible adult who they (students) know I have their best interest at heart physically, emotionally, socially and academically.
My Science Classes
My name is Kevin Baker (Coach Baker because I coached high school football and baseball for 22 years.) I am your science teacher for all high school science core classes (Biology, IPC, Chemistry, and Physics) as well as the elective classes (Astronomy, Environmental Systems, and Forensics, etc). In addition, I will also have a Credit Recovery (Edgenuity) class to monitor during the day. Below is my daily schedule for each day of the week. Each day’s times are different from each other. I teach classes 1st period thru 6th-period science ending with 7th period designated as my conference period.
I have been teaching in Alvin ISD for 20 years out of my 25 years in education. For most of those years, I was at Alvin HS and Manvel HS. During my time at AHS and MHS, I taught PAP Biology, IPC, Astronomy, AP Biology II, and Marine Biology. I also coached football and baseball. From 2006-20010 I was the head baseball coach at Manvel High School. I am married and have three boys, (Matt 27, Hunter 17, Mason 14). Matt graduated from Friendswood High School in 2010. Currently, Hunter attends Friendswood High School and is a Senior. Mason will be a freshman at Friendswood High School this year. My wife June and I have been married 20 years and have lived in Friendswood our whole marriage. June is a former teacher in CCISD but ventured into the real estate business in 2006. In my spare time, I coach a 15U travel baseball team called the Bay Area Tigers on weekends. I also play guitar and love to work around the house. My passion is for playing guitar, flying airplanes, riding motorcycles, which I rarely get the chance to do. I graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1988 and a few years later I earned my bachelor's degree at Dallas Baptist University where I played baseball for four years.Dallas Baptist University '94
