     Rules and Respect
I began my teaching career in Austin ISD in 1984. Throughout my 33 years in education, I have taught in 10 different districts across various teaching fields. I have a B.S. in Education with certifications in Psychology, Early Childhood, English as a Second Language, and Special Education. In the summer of 2011, I attended a summer institute on Dyslexia Intervention and knew I had found my calling.  I feel so fortunate to have found a home in Alvin ISD and will be able to continue working with students with Dyslexia. The Basic Language Skills program offered in Alvin ISD is outstanding, and I am looking forward to attending future training through The Neuhaus Education Center.  It is my passion to help empower each and every one of my students to become confident and successful readers.
If you have concerns about your student's reading progress, contact their language arts teacher. I work with the language arts teachers in identifying students who need to be assessed for dyslexia. I would be glad to speak with you about your student. You can e-mail me at mmcrorey@alvinisd.net.
