    About Me...
I am very excited to be teaching AVID again this year. AVID is a college readiness program that is both fun and informational to students that are on a path toward formal education. My teaching days began at Alvin Community College where I taught interpersonal communications and customer service at the Juvenile Justice Center in Angelton. The prospect of being able to have a positive impact on a child’s life and learning spurred me on to pursue my goal of becoming a teacher. I earned my Bachelors of Arts from Lamar University and received my teaching credential from Texas Teachers. My free time is spent with my family and watching the Texans and the Astros. I have three beautiful crhildren, and a supportive husband who makes my life exciting and meaningful. My two daughters earned their bachelors from the University of Houston, and Texas A&M. My son recieved his undergrad from Texas Tech, did a tour in Afghanistan and is now currently finishing his masters at Texas A&M.   (Did I mention my son was a 4 year AVID student) I believe that all students can be successful in college, and the AVID program helps me prepare Harby kids for this goal. I am thrilled to be part of this program and very excited for the year!
