I have been teaching since 1993 with all but 5 years in Alvin ISD. During the five years I was in Pearland ISD, I was named the District's Secondary Teacher of the Year in 2011. It was an honor and a privilege to be chosen, but being born and raised in Alvin, I knew my heart was telling me I needed to come home. I have one daughter who is a para at Frienswood Junior High. My love for teaching truly kept me going. I have a love and passion for English, Reading and children. I look forward to bringing that love to the classroom and hope that my students can take away some of that enthusiasm and passion.
NEEDED Supply List for my class: 2 composition books, pens / pencils / highlighters, 2 boxes of klenex, markers, map pencils or crayons, 4 sets of index cards (any color / minimum 3X5), and please purchase the following three books for the school year: East of Eden by John Steinbeck, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, William Shakespeare's Two Noble Kinsman and we will have a Literacy unit the fourth nine weeks and these books will be announced after Christmas. You will need a hard copy to write on so no electronic copies will be allowed. (The Barnes and Nobel in Pearland Town Center has been informed and has ordered some for you to purchase.)
Parents and Students, please sign up for free text reminders through Remind 101 from me. I will send text messages with important information to you when test are coming, important dates are nearing or just information you may need to know or maybe news that hasn't reached you yet. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Also, please sign up for Google classroom. These are two ways to stay on top of your work. Thank you for joining the fun and helping keep the lines of communications open.
