    About Ms. Nelson

I graduated from Denison High School and then continued my education at Texas State University-San Marcos where I received a Bachelor’s of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science. I received my teaching certificate in Health Science Technology from University of North Texas, and and graduated with my Master of Education in School counseling from Lamar University. I have four bonus (step-kids) and a two year old little boy. We love traveling with our family and have spent the last three years of breaks seeing new things together.

I am currently a Board Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) and a Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (ABHI). Before teaching, I worked in three types of specialized laboratories between California and Texas: microbiology, surgical pathology, and histocompatibility or organ transplant.

I will be teaching Clinical Rotations, Anatomy and Physiology, and Medical Microbiology at Manvel High School this year.

Along with Mr. Barajas and Mr. Clark I will be one of three HOSA advisors/sponsors. Check out what is going on with HOSA on our HOSA calendar and come to our meetings after school in the LGI the second and fourth Wednesday of the month.

This will be my seventh year teaching and fifth year at Career and Technical Education Department Head at Manvel High School and I love being here. Check out what's going on in our CTE world, what we have to offer, our CTE teacher calendars, and other organization on our CTE website.
