    Welcome to First Grade at Mark Twain Elementary
     
    I am excited to have the opportunity to teach your child  and I am looking forward to helping your child grow and make new discoveries throughout our year together.  It is my belief that your child has limitless potential and I hope to engage them in a way that makes learning meaningful for them and I look forward to the learning experiences that we will share together.  
     
    A little about me...
    I am excited about beginning my 12th year at Mark Twain. I began as a first grade teacher and then taught 2nd grade for 5 years before coming back to first grade.  I know that my 2nd grade teaching experience helps me prepare your child for the next grade level!  When I am not at work, I spend my time being a wife and mother.  My husband and I are the proud parents of four children, two boys and two girls. Our oldest daughter graduated from UH and is also a teacher at Mark Twain as a 2nd grade teacher. Our youngest daughter is also a UH grad and is a 4th grade teacher in El Paso. Our oldest son is an A&M grad and is an accountant with EY. Our youngest is a junior at UTSA studying business.  We are also parents to our sweet lab Pepper. She keeps us busy now that the children are out of the house.
