I was born and raised in Houston, Texas.  After graduating from high school I went on to the University of North Texas where I received my undergraduate degree in marketing.  I then moved back to Houston where I began to work for Brink's Armored for about nine years.  I left Brinks to begin my career in education.  I began my career in education in Fort Bend ISD as a 1st grade teacher for 1 year.  I left Fort Bend and made my way to Alvin ISD at Mary Marek Elementary.  I have now been in education for 14 years with thirteen of those years right here at Marek..  Here at Marek I taught 1st grade for 6 years and worked in the special education department as a reading resource teacher for one year. 

 

While teaching at Marek I traveled to Prairie View, Texas on the weekends to work on my graduate degree.  In 2008 I received my graduate degree in counseling from Prairie View A&M University.

 

In 2012 I was honored to become the school counselor.  I was very excited to begin my counseling career at Marek where I had already had the opportunity to build relationships with the students, teachers and parents! 

 

I have been married to my wonderful husband Anthony for eleven years and we have one amazing little boy, Jackson who is 9 years old.  Jackson will be in 4th grade this year!!
