Hello! My name is Jessica Matula. I teach 5th grade reading/language arts at Mary Marek Elementary, and I am proud to be working at such a wonderful school! I have been at Marek since it opened in 2004, and this is my 20th year teaching 5th grade. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University (Axe 'em Jacks!) in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.  My husband John and I have been married for 21 years, and we have two awesome children - Amber who is attending the University of Texas at Austin, and Chris who is a sophomore in high school.  I am a huge history buff, I adore reading, and I love watching Houston sports - Texans, Rockets and Astros!
