• The mission of Special Olympics Texas is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The experience gives them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendships with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community. We approach each endeavor with a single intent – to improve the quality of life for our athletes. The challenges of the future are embraced with enthusiasm and commitment, ensuring that the changing face and needs of our athletes are met. We want athletes to develop friendships and confidence as they complete in their favorite sports.

Alvin ISD offers our athletes a variety of different sports to compete in, including Bowling, Basketball, Soccer, and Track and Field.
