About Me

My name is Rhonda Shirah and I'm so excited to be teaching 3rd grade again here at Marek! My goal for this year is for all of my students to reach their full learning potential while having tons of fun at the same time.

A little information about myself: I grew up in Lafayette, LA and moved to Texas in 2004. While still in Louisiana, I graduated from the University of New Orleans with a BS in Computer Science and worked as a Software Engineer. Although I enjoyed coding, it wasn't my passion. After receiving my teaching certificate, I was lucky enough to start my teaching career here at Marek.

My home life is both awesome and crazy! My husband, Dewayne, and I have two boys (Grant: 19 and Reed: 16) who keep us super busy. Grant just completed his second year at UT in Austin and Reed will be a Junior at Shadow Creek High. Both boys attended Marek and loved every year.

Outside of school... I read, I travel with my family, and watch as many Saints games as I can!
