Agenda/Planner: Your child will be issued one agenda. The agenda will be used to record assignments daily, weekly spelling words, and will serve as a way of communication if there are any behavior issues. Your child will be responsible for keeping up with his/her agenda, and a homework grade will be taken from filling out the agenda.
Google Classroom: We will be using Google classroom throughout the year as a supplement to our in-class instruction. For instance, students will submit their 40 book challenge (see Homework page for details) thinkmarks using Google. It is important that students are familiar with how to use Google Classroom, and we will be going over these procedures during the first weeks of school.
Late Work: As per Alvin ISD policy, late assignments will be accepted with a grading penalty. A maximum of 10 points will be deducted for late work each day. All assignments must be turned in before final grades are due.
Absences: Please send a note with your child when he/she returns from an absence so that the office may excuse that absence.
Tuesday Folders: Weekly folders will be sent home on Tuesdays and will include graded assignments and communication/flyers from the office. We would appreciate it if you would review the contents of the folder with your child.
Progress Reports/Report Cards: Progress reports will be sent home every 4 1/2 weeks to help keep you informed of your child’s averages and any missing assignments. Progress reports should be signed and returned the day after received. Report cards are given to your child every 9 weeks.
Parent -Teacher Conferences: Conferences are an important part of your child’s education. Please feel free to contact us via email to schedule a conference. Conferences this year will be held virtually. Our conference time is 2:30 – 3:15.
