• Mrs. Shireman’s Reading Class Syllabus


    ·        To improve reading comprehension and fluency

    ·        To improve spelling

    ·        To build oral language, vocabulary, and higher level thinking skills


    ·        Basic Language Skills (Books 1-3) or Multi-Sensory Reading and Spelling (Books 1-4)

    ·        Developing Metacognitive Skills


    50 % of the recorded grade will be based on tests and participation in class. Teacher observation of student performance on oral activities, reading practices and spelling practices will be evaluated each two week period.

    50% of the recorded grade will consist of classwork and quiz grades.

    The final exam grade will consist of parts of the daily lessons.
