Heather Benbrook, SEL Counselor
I am excited to start a new journey in Alvin ISD this year as a Social Emotional Learning(SEL) Counselor at Alvin High School, Alvin Junior High and Harby Junior High (7th/8th campus)! As an alum of Alvin High School and Alvin Junior High, I am excited to be able to serve and help students down the same hallways that I called home so many years ago. I have been in education for 13 years with 9 of those years as a school counselor. I have always had a love of children and helping others. I would like to thank you for sharing your children with me this year. I feel truly blessed and I have truly enjoyed the journey along the way. I get to share my passion for counseling every day!
I began my journey in 2009 with my first class. On March 13th, I married my high-school sweetheart, Andrew Benbrook, who also works for Alvin ISD. We have both called Alvin home since we were very young. In the spring of 2014, we added two bundles of joy (a boy and girl twin) to our lives and are excited about this new journey in life as well. I can't believe that they will be starting 3rd grade already this year! Alvin is a wonderful place to live, work and grow. I am truly blessed to call it home in all aspects of my life. I couldn't ask for a better place to grow in my counseling experience, serve my community, and continue my life journey with my family.
