Statistics Course Information

In Statistics, students will build on the knowledge and skills for mathematics in Kindergarten-Grade 8 and Algebra I. Students will broaden their knowledge of variability and statistical processes. Students will study sampling and experimentation, categorical and quantitative data, probability and random variables, inference, and bivariate data. Students will connect data and statistical processes to real-world situations. In addition, students will extend their knowledge of data analysis.

Please read the important information regarding this class. Thank you for your time and I look forward to a great year!

ASSIGNMENTS: Students will use the classroom as a place to develop, explore, and learn. Reviews will be completed during class and are to be taken home to use as a study tool. We will work bell to bell. A typical class will begin with a warm up, followed with the lesson/notes, and then have a collaborative/independent assignment to complete.

MAKE UP WORK: Every student will be responsible to complete his other missing assignments. You can refer to Skyward to see what assignments you are missing and can attend tutorials if needed.

    1. Students must log in on time and remain in class for the full class period or at the teacher’s discretion.
    2. Students will mute their microphone and make sure their camera is on (dressed and background is appropriate).
    3. Students will participate in the chat and respect the classroom.

    1. Be PROMPT. Be on time.
    2. Be PREPARED. Bring all materials and necessary work every day.
    3. Be PRODUCTIVE. Maximize learning time by staying on task, following directions, and remaining seated unless you have been given permission to get up.
    4. Be POLITE. Be nice or neutral to everyone. Swearing, teasing, talking back, and bullying WILL NOT be tolerated.  Respect yourself, your classmates, your teacher, and your classroom.  Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
    5. Be PATIENT. Wait respectfully and calmly for your turn.  Listen and stay seated when someone is talking.

ATTENDANCE Attendance is a NECESSITY! Absences are not to exceed the 90% attendance rule. Missing even one day can put a child behind. Please encourage your child to be in class every day and to be on time.  However, I understand that emergencies do occur and will do my best to keep each student on schedule.  Coming to tutorials is the best option in cases such as this.

    Grading Policy
