    Earl Humbird has served on the Board of Trustees for over fifteen years. He and his wife, Kathy, are proud Alvin High School graduates from the class of 1977. He has three daughters, who are also graduates of Alvin High School, and eight grandchildren. Earl is now retired and enjoys volunteering his time supporting and engaging with the staff and students of the Alvin ISD.

    Vivian Scheibel was first elected to the Board of Trustees in May of 2014. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University and is a technical sales professional for a software corporation. Vivian and her husband, Randy, have two children and a grandson.  They have lived in Alvin ISD since 2004 and their youngest son is a Class of 2021 graduate of Shadow Creek High School. Vivian enjoys volunteering and is committed to facilitating a culture of continuous improvement and educational excellence for the students, families, and staff of Alvin ISD.

    AJ was first elected to the Board of Trustees in May 2021. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BS in Management Information Systems. AJ is an active member in the community and has been involved in the Pearland Rotary Club and local Booster clubs for years. AJ has a passion for helping others and developing relationships. These skills have allowed him to transition from professional sports to being a successful Farmers Insurance and Financial Services Agent for the past 16 years. He will continue to work with other community partners to provide access and information to parents and students across Alvin ISD. He and his wife Jenise have four children. Three of them graduated from Manvel High School and the youngest attends Marek Elementary.

     


     

    Cory

    Cory was first elected to the Board of Trustees in May 2021. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and is co-owner and operator of the family business, Scott Funeral Home. Cory is active in the community and has been involved in numerous local civic organizations, including, Alvin Rotary Club, Alvin-Manvel Chamber of Commerce, Alvin-Manvel Knights of Columbus No. 6403, and Alvin Little League. Being active and supporting the community in which he lives is of value to Cory. He and his wife Hayley, have twins, Brooks and Burkley, that attend Fairview Junior High.

    Cheryl Harris was re-elected to Position 3 for a fourth term which began May 2021.  Cheryl has worked in social services for more than 22 years and is currently the Chief Operating Officer for Consumer Directed Services at Imagine Enterprises, a non-profit that serves individuals with developmental disabilities. Harris is a proud alumnus of Alvin High School and received her Applied Science degree from Alvin Community College.  Mrs. Harris and her husband Mark are the parents of two daughters who are also Alvin High School graduates; Shelby, an elementary school teacher, and Hailey who is attending Texas A&M University (again, whoop!). Cheryl is an active member of the Soroptimist International of Alvin.

    Regan Metoyer-Peterson, Position 4

    Regan has worked in higher education for more than 20 years and is an admissions officer for graduate programs at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University. Metoyer-Peterson is a proud alumnus of Alvin High School, Alvin Community College, and The University of Houston Clear Lake and is presently pursuing a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. She and her husband, Rodney Peterson, have 4 children: Alexis is a public-school teacher and videographer, Cailyn is in nursing school, Gavin attends Alvin High School and Kaileb attends Dickinson High School. She is an active member of Soroptimist International and Houston Aggie Women. Metoyer-Peterson has her attention on retaining quality teachers and staff, addressing pandemic related learning loss, and nurturing the partnership between the school district and the community. 


     

    David

     

    David Selsky, Position 5

    David has been a very engaged resident and served on several committees to determine school rezoning due to growth as well as committees to study the need for bonds to make recommendations to the school board.  David has also served on other area boards including the Pearland Economic Development Corporation, the Tax Incremental Reinvestment Zone board, Pearland Planning & Zoning Commission, and others.

     

    David has worked for UK-owned Direct Energy for the last 15 years, running their power plant fleet in North America before overseeing their safety programs both home and across Europe.  Today, David continues working to deliver safety programs for a commercial disaster restoration company.

     

    David and his family have lived in Alvin ISD since 2006.  His two children have been with the district since kindergarten. One is in high school and the oldest is at Texas A&M College Station. David and his wife Rachel recently celebrated their 20th anniversary.
