In 7th grade, students refine and master previously learned reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in increasingly complex presentations, reading selections, and written compositions. Seventh grade students continue to read classic and contemporary selections and informational texts. Students select and use different forms of writing for specific purposes. Students produce writing with varied sentence structure and use their knowledge of grammar and usage, spelling, punctuation, and capitalization to improve their writing and produce error-free compositions on a regular basis. Students present oral and written reports using visuals and media.
Tutoring will be available either before or after school. I will post more information once I establish my permanent schedule.
Each student will be responsible for maintaining an interactive notebook that is to be brought to class every day. There will be regular notebook checks and daily grades will be assigned for organization and content. Students who do not keep their notebooks organized typically have a more difficult time keeping up in class. Your assistance will help me to ensure the student’s success in this area.
Materials needed to be successful:
- 2 Composition notebooks (No spiral notebooks please)
- Pens (black or blue only) and sharpened pencils (If mechanical pencils are used, please include extra lead)
- Personal pencil sharpener
- Colored pencils
- 4 Highlighters (variety of colors)
