Welcome to 4th Grade at Hood-Case Elementary!

We look forward to a fabulous year of learning and growing with your child.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Students can enter the building at 7:15. We will sit in the pod until 7:50 when the announcements start.

    Art/Music/P.E. & Teacher Conference - 8:00-8:50

All classes are staggered between 11:20 and 12:00 for lunch and recess. Your child will know the exact time for his/her class. Students have daily recess after lunch. We have a bag of equipment for students to use during recess. Do NOT bring toys from home as this leads to arguments and accidents. You are, however, welcome to donate items to our recess bag for use throughout the year by all students.

We begin dismissal at 3:25. Call the office before 2:45 for a change in transportation.

Your child's future depends on regular attendance and participation in school. Please make sure your child comes to school on time by 8:00 every day and check your child's backpack every afternoon for homework.

Students will have math homework Monday through Thursday to be turned in the following day. Reading homework is handed out on Monday and due on Friday. Sciencesocial studies, and language arts will not have homework unless something is left unfinished in class. Students can use a folder to carry homework.

    1. Be responsible.
    2. Be respectful.
    3. Be safe.

    Rewards & Consequences

When students follow these rules, they can earn the following rewards: social lunch, extra recess, positive note home, or classroom privileges. However, if a student continues to break the rules, after reminders are given, the student may receive a phone call home, time out from an activity, or an office referral.

    Tuesday Folder

Your child’s success this school year is directly related to our communication. Each week we will send home graded papers and notes on Tuesday. Please review these items, make comments if necessary, sign, and return the empty folder to school the next day.

Students will use their agenda to keep up with daily, weekly, and monthly activities and assignments. Teachers will check agendas regularly, but it is best to email or call with any urgent messages.

    Birthday Parties

Birthdays are celebrated in homeroom at the end of the day. Parents may bring one small snack for each student in the homeroom class.
