Ms. Andrea Sanchez

Andrea Sanchez is in her 6th year of teaching and her first year as the Assistant Director of Bands at Alvin High School. Go Jackets! Ms. Sanchez is the Director of the Symphonic Winds, assists with the Alvin Marching Band, and is a woodwind specialist. 
Prior to Alvin HS, Ms. Sanchez was the Head Director of Bands at Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg, Texas. She collaborated with a strong team of directors and led a 6th-12th band program with 650 students! During her time at LCHS, Ms. Sanchez also taught beginning woodwinds at Wessendorff Middle School and the Concert Band II at Lamar Junior High. Ms. Sanchez and her students also earned the Mark of Excellence, Commended Winner Award in 2016!
Ms. Sanchez earned the Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Houston in 2014. Go Coogs! While attending the University of Houston, Ms. Sanchez was the drum major of the Spirit of Houston marching band for two years, as well as the flute section leader for one year. In August 2018, Ms. Sanchez earned the Master of Music Education degree from Texas Tech University. Wreck Em! While at Texas Tech, Ms. Sanchez was invited to present in research consortium events and focused on music research, philosophy, and pedagogy. 
Ms. Sanchez's professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, Sigma Alpha Iota, Kappa Kappa Psi, and Tau Beta Sigma. 
Ms. Sanchez enjoys attending all Houston sports games, traveling, spending time with friends and family, as well as taking care of her fur baby, Argo!

Google Classroom (Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Band, Color Guard 6th & 7th)

All students were added to a Google Classroom based on their class period! To join the class, you need to have access to your student email account and accept the invitation. If you have problems logging in, please don't hesitate to contact a director! We can request a password reset on your behalf. 


Please know that all assignments are meant for your enrichment! Every Monday, you will find a new assignment in your respective Google Classroom. You will have a week to complete each assignment! All assignments will need to be submitted every Monday by 10am. Don't worry, everything will be easy to complete and won't take long at all :)
