About me
I am thrilled to continue teaching at Mary Marek Elementary for the 2019-2020 school year. The classes I will be teaching are 4th grade Reading and 4th grade Social Studies. Previously, I taught 5th grade and 7th grade Reading and Writing here in Alvin ISD at Marek Elementary and Rodeo Palms Junior High. My Texas certifications include Reading and Writing (grades 4-12), English as a Second Language, and Gifted and Talented. This year, I am looking forward to taking your child through the 4th grade curriculum and preparing him or her to successfully transition into 5th grade.
I was born and raised in Louisiana and earned my bachelor's degree in Business Management from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. I then spent 6 years living in New York City and attending St. John's University, where I earned a master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a doctoral degree in Education (EdD).
After working in healthcare administration and higher education administration for 13 years, I decided to dedicate my energy into my own community and serve students and their families as a Reading, Writing, and Social Studies teacher. I'm looking forward to working with all of you to ensure that your student has an enjoyable learning experience in my class.
