A Note to My Parents

I am honored that you have given me the opportunity to teach your child 5th grade science here at Marek Elementary.  I am truly excited to see what great things that this year will bring.  It is my goal that you and I work together as a team to ensure the success of our students.  With us working together, it will definitely ensure that our students will reach their goals.  If you need to talk to me at anytime about our students, please feel free to contact me by email at nraven@alvinisd.net.

A Little  about Ms. Raven

I am a born and raised native of Houston, Texas.  I graduated from Texas A&M University - College Station.  I have a Bachelor's of Science in Agricultural Development.  Before coming into education, I was fortunate to work as a Production Control Manager at a plant nursery that at the time was named Hines Nurseries.  I later decided to go into education, where I first started off as a Teacher's Assistant for two years.  I have been a certified teacher for seven years.  I have worked as a 5th grade Science teacher, a Self-contained fourth and fifth grade teacher, as well as a 4th grade Reading, Writing, and Social Studies teacher.  I am currently pursing my Master's degree in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

I have three wonderful children.  Their names are Natalie, Samuel, and Hannah.  I have a great support system of my three siblings and family members.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, sleeping, and spending time with my family.
