Alvin ISD Family,
Thank you for your continued support of Alvin ISD. As a school district, our goal is to engage students in activities that will ultimately help them achieve their maximum potential. Often times, this occurs in the classroom, but some of life’s greatest lessons occur outside of the classroom when we serve others.
As most of you remember, last year, thousands of Alvin ISD students, parents and staff completed over 200 service projects for residents of Alvin ISD. This event, known as “The Day”, is back! On Saturday, September 14th, Alvin ISD will, once again, be working to accomplish this unprecedented event. By embracing a heart of service, we can have a tremendous impact on our entire community, while also instilling and affirming the values of service and care in our students and in ourselves.
Teams at each of our campuses have been working to identify opportunities to serve. Campus specific communication will be shared in the coming days and weeks regarding the specific plans and logistics occurring on “The Day”.
Our goal is to have all 26,000 students, along with their parents and 3,400 employees, descend on our community to represent Alvin ISD and show our gratitude to residents that support us each and every day. We hope you will find this to be a worthwhile opportunity for you and your child.
As we collectively take the step to accomplish this monumental task, please remember it is not necessarily about the number of jobs we finish, it is more about expressing gratitude to the community who gives so much to us. Even more so, it about instilling a heart to serve in our students and growing that in ourselves. I believe with each of us embracing this opportunity and taking the first step together, the impact on our community will be more significant than anything we can imagine.
Thank you, once again, for your ongoing partnership and support of Alvin ISD. Remember, we are made of many, but serve as one. Please watch the video below to get a glimpse of "The Day" and we look forward to seeing you on September 14th!
